The Scholarship Awards
The Brownsburg Community Association administers the annual BCA scholarship. Since the program started in 2017, the BCA has awarded $11,500 in scholarships to 15 deserving students in the Brownsburg area.
The applicant must be a graduate of Rockbridge County High School, Riverheads High School, or an accredited home-school in Rockbridge or southern Augusta Counties. The applicant must have plans to attend a degree granting institution and/or a vocational center to further their education and be graduating with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The applicant must submit an essay targeting “What is the meaning of community to you, and how will community be a part of your future in your post high school education?”
The BCA board members are responsible for thoroughly reviewing all the application materials, providing feedback and a ranking of each applicant, and selecting a recipient by statistical ranking and a final vote. The scholarship awards are presented during award night ceremonies at the respective schools. In 2024, the BCA started awarding the Dick Barnes Memorial Scholarship annually to the highest ranked applicant.
If you know of any Brownsburg area students who will be graduating in 2025, please make sure they are aware of our BCA scholarships.
Are you interested in supporting future young Brownsburg area residents?
