Y’all ready for this?
Join us on Saturday, September 25, 2021 for the Brownsburg Community Association’s 3rd Annual Run of the Mill 5K, a point-to-point road race, jog or walk from historic Brownsburg to historic Wade’s Mill. The BCA felt it was prudent to postpone one last time until later in the summer when vaccine roll out will have happened for many and on a date when it’ll be easier to be outside. The race is now scheduled for September 25, 2021 and we look forward to seeing everyone then. Everyone, please stay safe during this time!
The Run of the Mill follows a point-to-point course over slightly hilly tarmac terrain. The route bisects beautiful farmland, crosses several creeks all the while cheered on by local cows, sheep and residents. The race finishes at Wade’s Mill where a bus delivers people back to Brownsburg after the ceremony. It is a fun day for all and proceeds contribute to the Brownsburg Community Association’s support for student scholarships, first responders and community projects. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. in Brownsburg. The Race starts at 10 a.m. All ages, abilities and canine companions on leash are welcome! Age groups: <10 | 10-15 | 16-20 | 21-30 | 31-40 | 41-50 | 51-60 | 61-70 | 71+

Second Annual Run of the Mill Results:
|We had a wonderful 2nd Annual Run of the Mill on Saturday morning. The weather cleared, the runners and volunteers turned out and lined the streets of Brownsburg, Route 252 and Wades Mill Loop to cheer on the 55 runners. Over 40+ volunteers turned out to register the runners, keep the roads safe and time/place the finishers. Meghan Beard was the overall winner for a second year running. We had participants from age 10 (Lucy Gingerelli) up to age 85 (Juanita Poole) and congratulations to both! Prizes from Wades Mill, Tantivy Farms, Ridge Valley Alpacas, Lexington YMCA and Lexington Running Shop went to Meghan Beard, Leah Beard and Nicole Black (for the women) and to Ben St Ours, Mitchell Sutton and John Atthome (for the men). We’re looking forward to the 3rd annual run next Spring and hope to have more fun activities at the finish line next year. The BCA Board would like to thank all the runners, volunteers and sponsors for supporting this special community event.|
